Announcing: Frightful Fall Read-a-Thon-Sign Up Now!

It's almost that time again...my next seasonal read-a-thon! I usually host these at my main blog, The True Book Addict, but, as promised to the participants of my summer read-a-thon, I am doing a spooky theme in honor of the scariest time of year--the Halloween season.  So I decided that hosting it here on my new horror blog would be quite appropriate.  Note:  I am looking for people to host mini-challenges and/or giveaways...authors and bloggers alike...so spread the word and get in touch with me if you would like to host or donate something (truebookaddictATgmailDOTcom).  Thanks!

Details

  • Dates:  Monday, October 3 at 12:00am through Sunday, October 9 at 11:59pm (your time zone).
  • To go along with the scary theme, this time I will have a requirement.  You must read at least ONE scary book during the read-a-thon.  If you are not a horror fan, then make it a thriller or a mystery, as long as the book has some kind of spooky premise to it.  Those of you who fulfill this requirement, and sign in at the starting line, will automatically be entered in the participant giveaway.
  • Read as much or as little as you want.  You do not have to join in all week.  Start during the week or just do the weekend.  It's your decision.  Just be sure to sign in at the starting line when you start reading.
  • I will be hosting a scary themed mini-challenge and hopefully we will have other mini-challenges and/ or giveaways (see note above).
  • Our hashtag for Twitter will be #frightfall
  • Sign up in the linky below.  You do not have to do a post now, unless you want to help spread the word (hint, hint...LOL)  If you don't have a blog, use Facebook, Twitter or Goodreads.  Having a blog is not required.
  • Grab a button, either the large one above or I've added a small version below.

  22. I am so in on this. I would like to extend a challenge: there is a NEW and FABULOUS book out called High Midnight by Rob Mosca. It has ghosts, zombies and homicidal clowns. It is perfect for Halloween! This book is terrific. I will be reading it for this Read-A-Thon and I challenge others to read it with me. Here is the link to purchase the book on Amazon: http://tiny.cc/kx55h (copy and paste if this doesn't link).

  27. What is the code for the button? It's not posting for me!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hi Moirae, I didn't make a code for it. You can right click on it, select 'save image as', and save it to your computer. Then, if you're adding it to a post, upload it there or, if you're putting it on your blog, go to layout, select add a gadget, select picture, and upload it there and then enter the link to this post to link it up. I hope it wasn't too confusing.

Thanks for signing up for the read-a-thon!

  38. I'm not ssscared. I'll be reading Solom by Scott Nicholson. I'm donating horror anthology ebook Playing with Fire by Chryse Wymer and Coral Russell and a creepy ebook thriller Brilliant Prey that Scott Nicholson called a "twisting, intense psychological thriller." I've shared your chilling read-a-thon on my blog. http://www.brendabwallace.blogspot.com/

  40. I'm so excited! I've been building up Halloween reads :)

  41. This will be a first for me. I have never joined a read-a-thon. Not quite sure what I'm supposed to do. Obviously, the easy part is to read (horror, thrillers, etc are my favorite, so the problem is choosing which one), but beyond that I'm a little lost. But I love to read, and Michelle is always doing cool things, so I figured I'm game. :) Thanks to anyone who explains to me (EMAIL: Tiffany@WeveSeenSanta.com)

  47. Yay! Almost time to start reading! Hope to get some good time in this week! Happy reading to you!
