Castle Macabre Blog Launch Event and Giveaway!

UPDATE:  PRIZES ADDED FOR SECOND AND THIRD PLACE WINNERS! SEE BELOW...

This is the official launch of Castle Macabre! All month long, there will be author guest posts, giveaways, book reviews, movie reviews and more.  I'm still looking for guest posts, etc. so if you're an author who would like to promote your book with a guest post/giveaway, get in touch.  Readers, if you are a total horror fan, I would love to have a guest post from you as well!

I'm getting the party started by announcing the launch giveaway!

I will be giving away to ONE winner the horror book of your choice, value up to $15, from Better World Books.  Since BWB ships free internationally, this will be an INTERNATIONAL giveaway! Here are the rules:

  • You must leave a comment telling me which horror book you would like if you win (you can change your mind later though).
  • Must be a GFC follower or subscriber (feedburner, RSS, email)--this will be verified
  • You can earn extra entries by also following me at The True Book Addict, by tweeting and/or sharing on Facebook, and/or sharing in a blog post.  These are optional entries.
  • Fill out the FORM below to enter (if you have problems with the form, please let me know)
  • Giveaway will end on September 30, 2011 at 11:59pm CST.
That's not all! I'm going to add a SECOND and THIRD place winner! That's right. I'm going to pick up some gently used horror books to give away to these winners. These will be books I have either read or have heard great buzz about. Each winner will win at least one book, possibly two...just depends on what I find! This portion of the giveaway is open to U.S. entrants only. UPDATE: THE SECOND AND THIRD PLACE PRIZES ARE DUMA KEY BY STEPHEN KING AND THE RUINS BY SCOTT SMITH. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THESE ARE GENTLY USED HARDCOVERS (DUMA KEY IS A 'WITHDRAWN FROM PUBLIC LIBRARY' BOOK). THESE ARE TWO OF MY FAVORITE HORROR NOVELS. DUMA KEY IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE STEPHEN KING BOOKS AND PLEASE, IF YOU'VE SEEN THE FILM THE RUINS, PLEASE DON'T JUDGE THE BOOK BY ITS MOVIE. THE BOOK WAS TONS BETTER!

Please specify in the form if you are international or U.S. and also specify the prize for which you are entering.

Good luck to all and be sure to stop by for more horrific fun all month!

  1. I would pick anything by Jonathan Maberry but most like I'd try and grab Patient Zero! I've been booklusting over that for a while now!

  5. Hmmm... What would I pick if I win? I'm thinking anything with zombies would strike my fancy just right. Or maybe Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters (I loved P&P& Zombies!). Or maybe some new distopian horror... Hard decisions. But I am loving this new blog. And I'm definitely participating in the Frightful Fall Readathon. Saving The Walking Dead just for that!

  8. I'm trying to get my Watchtower series books back on my shelves, so I would choose The Song of Susannah by Steven King here:http://www.betterworldbooks.com/the-song-of-susannah-id-9781416521495.aspx

I think that would only leave me missing one book in the series ... and the lesson to never loan an entire series out to anyone else ... ever

  11. I would pick one of the ink slinger's books. I have some of the classics like 'Salem's Lot (Scared the hell out of me and I slept with the lights on for a week!) and The Shining, but I'd love to get my collection growing, I'd probably pick Pet Sedimentary. I had it on hold at the library then my kitty died and a fellow King fan told me to wait to read it.

    Awesome contest!

  17. Your music is scaring me. I don't really like scary books but I like psychological thrillers or ghost stories. I would probably buy The forest of hands and teeth because the cover looks really cool.
