I Read Horror Year-Round - Last quarter check-in and wrap-up for 2021

Well, the first year of I Read Horror YR is a wrap. So how did you do? I don't think I quite completed the category I set out for, but let me list the categories below and see how I stacked up...
  • Winter theme, or winter appearance on the cover (snow, ice, etc.) - The Ascent, Ronald Malfi
  • Ghosts or spirits - Come With Me, Ronald Malfi
  • Psychological - Behind Her Eyes, Sarah Pinborough
  • Monster or monsters
  • A body of water (featured in story, on cover, or in title) - Cradle Lake, Ronald Malfi
  • Really scary book cover
  • Woman on cover - Mexican Gothic, Silvia Moreno-Garcia
  • Written by a woman - The Witch's Trinity, Erika Mailman
  • Written by a best-selling horror author -
  • Written by an indie author - August's Eyes, Glenn Rolfe
  • Historical horror - The Historian, Elizabeth Kostova
  • Folk horror - Bone White, Ronald Malfi
Not bad at all! I was going for the Chilling level which is 12 books in a year. Only two shy so I'll take it.

How about you? Share your wrap-up in the comments, or link to a wrap-up post on your blog (or social media, shelf on Goodreads, etc.).

In case you missed it, sign up for I Read Horror YR 2022 is open. Here's the link to the post.
I hope you will join me again!
