I liked it a lot, it had great characters that you can easily care about and it conveyed the 1950s racism problem really good putting it at the level of supernatural/demonic horror (as in the terrorising of people, not merely genre). While doing this, it served as an allusion for the racism problems of our own time as well. Some of the action got a bit exaggerated and improbable, I felt, but that may had been because it was trying to stay with the pulp theme.
